2007
Houston Chapter joins IAAP International Website family. New website address: www.iaap-houston.org

2000
Houston Chapter launched its official website: www.houstonchapteriaap.com

1998
Organization name changed to International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).

1983
Houston Chapter established the Dr. Rita B. Huff Endowed Scholarship at Sam Houston State University. The name of the scholarship later changed to Dr. Rita Huff and Dr. Ronald D. Johnson Endowed Scholarship.

1981
Organization name changed to Professional Secretaries International (PSI).

1980
In October, Houston Chapter closed its headquarters in the Main Building. Records were moved to The Lock It Pocket Mini-Warehouse at 4932 Glenmont. Furnishings were sold for $120.

1976
Houston Chapter hosted the International Convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Prebble Luthultz CPS and Thelma Judice Miller CPS were Convention Coordinators.

1969
On May 30th, Houston Chapter installed its first FSA (Future Secretaries Association) Chapter: Cy-Fair.

1968-69
Division Meeting hosted by Houston Chapter.

1964
Houston Chapter acquired space in the Main Building designated "Chapter Headquarters." This space was available for Chapter and committee meetings, study classes, and file storage. Necessary furnishings and equipment were gradually accumulated.

1958-59
Division Meeting hosted by Houston Chapter.

1955
An official Chapter Prayer written by Elsie Smith was adopted.

1954
On May 8, Houston Chapter installed its first chapter: Galveston County.

1953
Members, Illien Austin (deceased) and Connie Pendergast, were certified at the third CPS examination administered.

1952
First scholarship awarded at the University of Houston. The program was expanded to include scholarships at the University of Houston and Dominican College.

1951
In July, the National Convention was held in Houston at the Shamrock Hotel. Our Code of Ethics was adopted. CPS Review Classes were initiated at the University of Houston.

In August, the first CPS examination was administered at the University of Houston. Four Houston professionals were certified:

·         Marguerite (Mickey) Aldrich Daniel, NSA member

·         Anna Adams, later became a member

·         Ada Childers, later became a member

·         Gladys Jurchak Oakley, later became a member, is still a member, & is a judge in Bellville,TX

1948
Houston Chapter, National Secretaries Association (NSA) was chartered on September 28, 1948, with 29 charter members.
